The Black Mass and the Light of Truth

For decades, my battle wasn’t just against drugs and the law; it was a battle for my soul.

When I was a child, a neighbor who practiced voodoo sent me upstairs in her house. That day, I saw something I couldn’t explain—a “black mass” that seemed to attach itself to me. For most of my life, I suffered from sleep paralysis. I would wake up unable to move, feeling a crushing dark weight holding me down. It was a terrifying, lonely cycle that followed me through every jail cell and every drug-fueled night.

It wasn’t until I was 44 years old, sitting in a prison cell and finally turning to the Bible, that the shift happened. I started doing Bible studies, praying, and truly seeking the truth.

One night, the paralysis happened again. But this time, instead of waking up to that familiar darkness, I woke up to a room filled with light. The weight was gone. The mass was gone. I realized then that when you fill your life with light, the darkness has nowhere left to hide.

Recovery isn’t just about stopping a habit; it’s about clearing out the shadows in your spirit. Have you ever felt a weight you couldn’t explain? Let’s talk about the spiritual side of healing below. 👇
